Saddle Horn Retreat is one of several of our very well-located view properties here in Telluride that comprise our Luxe for Less(TM) Luxury Lodging Group. A waterfall greets you in the courtyard upon your arrival, near the pavillion where you can relax and read a book, and let the world go by.

The beautiful new Homestead House features four large bedrooms, two of which are master suites with baths en suite. High-def flatscreens, marble, granite, steam shower, and the most incredible state-of-the-art hot tub on one of the double-decker view decks, with special lights, fountains, and built-in CD changer, with pop-up speakers, and, of course, a floating remote control! (In case you were wondering.)

The luxurious Carriage House, available at your option for a modest additional fee, adds two additional master suites, and boasts a fully equipped second kitchen featuring a gas range and custom-designed built-in counter height fridges and separate freezer.   Both residences have their own private laundry rooms.

Both residences at the Retreat feature their own Great Rooms with vaulted ceilings, and the Homestead House has a fireplace not only in the Great Room, but in the master bath as well (but of course!).   Both residences feature steam showers in their main master suites.  The gourmet kitchens in both residences were designed to be open to their respective Great Rooms for easy entertaining, and feature beautiful matching marble countertops, special coffee makers and grinders, and everything you'll need for your most memorable mountain getaway ever!

The entire grounds are in the forest, on your own wooded acres, a beautiful corner lot with no close neighbors.

The mountains tower over the entire property, and from inside or out, you'll enjoy spectacular views, particular in winter months,  of our "fourteener," Wilson Peak, and Sunshine Mountain, and the San Sophias towering over the historic Town of Telluride, in the box canyon below.  In the summer, you'll enjoy filtered views through the aspen forest surrounding the Retreat, with thousands of aspens offering shade, and privacy, and with their leaves "quaking" in the breeze with a silver rustling sound that many of our guests find simply unforgettable.  (These are known locally as "quaking aspens.")   Many are 50 feet high and more at the Retreat, gently swaying in the breeze.

This superb close-in location is only 5 mins from the slopes via Telluride's free gondola system, at the new Town Hall Plaza in the adjacent Mtn Village. You'll also find Telluride's nicest, newest grocery store, with wines and spirits as well, and free parking, at the new Town Hall Plaza. All just 5 mins from the Retreat -- best of both worlds.

The Great Room in the Homestead House at the Saddle Horn Retreat features 30 ft vaulted ceilings, cozy fireplace, beautiful new lodge-style furniture and furnishings, and an open kitchen for entertaining.

Above the fireplace, a large HD flatscreen TV, satellite feed, etc.

Enjoy CDs, DVDs, stereo surround sound, and best of all -- breathtaking views out every window and door. French doors out to a huge view deck in the woods, or down the outdoor stairs connecting the upper deck with the lower deck, where the oversized jetted hot tub is waiting for you.

At the Carriage House, available as an affordable option for our clients in the Homestead House, a second Great Room also features vaulted ceilings, another oversized HD flatscreen TV that "floats" to swivel between the kitchen and the living area, and a custom-made, ultra-plush upholstered queen sleeper sofa, matching one just like it in the Homestead House. A fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops features a "breakfast bar" for casual dining.

Spacious gourmet kitchen open to the Great Room in the Homestead House features a SubZero fridge and high-end Kitchen-Aid appliances, including a hidden dishwasher. Fully equipped and furnished, right up to and including preparing a Thanksgiving Dinner for you and your friends and family.

Granite countertops and breakfast bar, dishwasher, wine cooler, convection/microwave, gas oven and range -- everything you need to prepare beautiful meals at the house for friends and family.

While you're cooking, enjoy the fireplace, enjoy the views, enjoy the trees, the music, the high def TV -- and we provide everything you'll need to get you started, with spices, condiments, hot and cold cereals, Swiss chocolates, Starbucks coffee, all included with your stay.

In the optional Carriage House, a fully equipped matching kitchen with black granite and marble countertops, just on a smaller scale compared with the larger kitchen in the Homestead House, and also featuring a gas range for the gourmet in you, and a hidden dishwasher. Also featured: two counter height built-in fridges, plus a separate counter height freezer, a convection oven, microwave, plus a Cuisinart coffee maker, and coffee grinder, and countertop toaster oven -- we've tried to think of everything!

You can seat up to eight adults at the beautiful new dining table in the Great Room, just off the gourmet kitchen. 

The fireplace and simply spectacular mountain views in every direction make it a perfect place to linger over a meal, and enjoy the mountains with your friends and family.

The upper master suite in the Homestead House comprises its own level above the Great Room, and offer a private luxury retreat with breathtaking mountain views.  Featured is a beautifully appointed king-sized bed, and a large HD flatscreen is concealed in custom designed built-ins, positioned perfectly for viewing from the bed whenever you like.  There's also a large private dressing area with special lighting.

Also in the Homestead House master suite: a separate built-in music system, and a luxurious marble master bath with steam shower and beautiful views of the trees and the mountains, Euro-glass, soaking tub, and its own fireplace! This mountain aerie is the perfect place to relax and forget about daily cares.

On a lower level, a second master suite, sumptiously appointed, and with its own private bath all of tumbled marble travertine, opens out to the decks leading to the oversized hot tub spa. 

Beautiful quilts and comforters, custom furniture and furnishings -- nothing overlooked for your pleasure and your comfort throughout your stay.  And of course -- Spa Robes and Spa-quality toiletries. (Have we ever denied you anything?)

And in the optional Carriage House, two additional masters -- one up, and one down. The upper master is similarly equipped and appointed as is the upper master in the Homestead House, including a second steam shower in a beautiful marble bath, all with beautiful views out every window.

The upper master in the Carriage House also features a built-in office area overlooking the Great Room below -- perfect for setting up your laptop, and enjoying our free wifi service at the Retreat, while staying "connected" -- not only to the outside world via the "Web," but to friends and family below.

The luxurious second master, on the main level at the Carriage House off the kitchen area in the Great Room, has its own entertainment setup and surround sound system, iPod hookup, and features wonderful views of the mountains and the woods.  Comfort and convenience, luxury and privacy.  What more can you ask?

The Homestead House at the Saddle Horn Retreat features a second master on the lower level, with a luxurious marble bath en suite, and with doors leading out to the double decker decks, and the oversized jetted hot tub on this level on the outdoor deck, all surrounded by the woods, the views, the quiet, the privacy, and the magic of the mountains.

The upper floor master in the Homestead House features a king sized bed. The beautiful second master, off the lower view deck, features a queen-sized bed, with down comforters and pillows, and, of course, Spa robes and Spa quality toiletries.

Two additional guest bedrooms feature queen beds, and we have special Aero sleepaway beds for young children if you like. These bedrooms on the lower level all feature beautiful mountain and forest views, and lead out to the spa deck, where you'll enjoy a state-of-the-art oversized hot tub overlooking the private grounds, and the nearby firepit. All quiet, private, in the woods, and part of a double-decker view deck system with outdoor staircase connecting upper and lower view decks. The upper view deck is off the Great Room and dining area.

The double decker decks offer over 1000 sqft of outdoor living areas, all surrounded by mountain views and in our beautiful forest, with  upscale outdoor furniture -- a perfect place to curl up in a quilt with a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy the incredible mountain scenery.

A beautiful firepit below, or from either of the double decker decks (connected by an outdoor staircase) are great ways to watch unforgettable sunsets, and just as memorable -- simply spectacular night skies -- unlike anything in the Mountain Village, on in the Town of Telluride in the box canyon below. 

Acres of wooded grounds and pathways -- all very private, and without near neighbors, to unwind and enjoy our unspoiled alpine wilderness environment.
